A well-considered canteen is an integral part of the broader working environment. Canteens offer staff a welcoming place to hang out, combating loneliness, encouraging creative thinking, cross-pollination of ideas and a mental break from the secluded context of their desk or private office.
The existing canteen was in desperate need of an upgrade – aesthetically, functionally, as well as equipment and operations. Mantra Interiors ltd was appointed to strategise, design, detail and implement the fit out of the Canteen refurbishment.
The existing servery counter had to remain in place, albeit extended and refurbished to accommodate new high-spec servery equipment, coffee machines, self-serving water coolers, integrated heated plate dispensers, as well as new ambient and detail lighting.
The prep kitchen received a complete overhaul with new joinery cupboards, work tops, wastewater discharge pumps and flooring.
The entire area was complimented with new, fresh and appropriate decorations, flooring and various seating options for staff.
Mantra Interiors applied intelligent space planning design principals to create a diverse and adaptable canteen area, whilst maximising the London city views on offer.
